- Is the PDF editor free on PDFA2Z?
- Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, unlimited use.
- Does the PDF editor work on mobile?
- Yes. The editor is touch-optimized and works on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Freehand drawing is especially natural with a touchscreen.
- Can I delete or replace existing text in a PDF?
- Directly editing existing PDF text is complex in a browser-based tool. However, you can use the Whiteout tool to cover existing text and then add new text on top of it.
- Can I add images to a PDF?
- Yes. Use the Image Insert tool to upload and place images anywhere on any PDF page. Resize and reposition by dragging.
- Can I highlight text in a PDF?
- Yes. The Highlight tool lets you drag-select areas to apply yellow, green, or pink highlight overlays over any part of the document.
- Can I add sticky notes or comments?
- Yes. Sticky notes can be placed on any page to add reviewer comments that appear as pop-up annotations in standard PDF readers.
- Can I whiteout (cover) existing text?
- Yes. The Whiteout tool draws a white rectangle over any area, effectively hiding the content underneath. Use our Redact PDF tool for permanent data removal from the PDF stream.
- What drawing tools are available?
- Freehand pen, straight line, rectangle, circle, and arrow tools are all available in the toolbar.
- Are my edits saved permanently in the downloaded PDF?
- Yes. When you download the edited PDF, all annotations, text, drawings, and signatures are permanently embedded. Recipients do not need special software to see the edits.
- Can I undo edits I don\
- Yes. Use Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo your last action. You can undo multiple steps.
- Can I edit password-protected PDFs?
- Only if you know the password. Unlock the PDF first using our free Unlock PDF tool, then edit it in the editor.
- Is there a page limit for the PDF I can edit?
- No hard limit, though very large PDFs (100+ pages, 50MB+) may load slower. For best performance, use our Split PDF tool to work on sections of very large documents.
